Robert Pattinson Joins Herzog's Queen of the Desert

"The teachers would have been standing by now, fixated and immobile, like theatre-goers trapped in the circle as chaos consumes the stalls. Instant Pay Paypal Affiliate Programs

Instant Pay Paypal Affiliate Programs

The title is a misnomer because PayPal is really an Internet bank that services clients worldwide by collecting and dispersing funds according to the wishes of their clients. PayPal services vendors by collecting payments, and if the vendor has an affiliate program, they could pay affiliates according to the instructions of the vendor.

When PayPal makes a disbursement to an affiliate or other entity, the money goes into the receiver account and deducted from the sender's account. PayPal charges for transactions. When I sell a flagpole, PayPal obtains the money from the buyer through the buyer's credit card, check or transfer. PayPal then sends me an email saying that they have put money into my account.

PayPal caters to marketers and buyers. I have an e-commerce store which was supplied by PayPal which handles my sales. When I get the notice of sale, I have the flagpole shipped from the factory directly to the customer.

Now you may have been thinking of ClickBank. ClickBank handles transactions for affiliate marketers and vendors of affiliate products. The buyer may be given the option to pay though PayPal. PayPal then pays ClickBank and ClickBank places the affiliate commission into the affiliate marketers ClickBank account. Commissions are paid by check on a monthly basis according to the choices of the affiliate and ClickBank's guidelines.

Commissions can be very rapid coming if a vendor pays commission by PayPal or other such service. But the money has to be transferred from the PayPal account which is not instant. However there is little delay in receiving payments.

So What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketers usually don't try to sell a product. They may review it or write relevant information that may warm up a client to click on an affiliate link. It is the vendor's job to do the selling.

Affiliate marketing is a business, not a get-rich-quick scheme. There is a process that an affiliate marketer should go through before grabbing a product from an affiliate network like ClickBank or CJ or such.

First a study of a particular market should be made.

Once the market is selected, the marketer digs deep into the Market and finds a sub-market called a niche. He is looking for a small group of eager buyers if he is selling products.

Now he studies the niche to see where the members "hang out" on the Internet (forums, chat rooms, etc.) He reads news letters and communicates with the niche until he is known by the members as a contributor. He learns their needs and wants and buys a domain, finds a host, and builds a website.

As I said, affiliate marketing is not a get-rich-quick scheme but a business. Training is required to do it correctly.

It is true that an affiliate marketer can find hot selling products and quickly put up a site or ten sites to sell them but that takes experience and Internet marketing training.

There expertise includes the use of keywords to name their sites and to write relevant information.

You can now see that when you made your search that you were thinking about a business and not quick affiliate commissions.

Cybersquatters accepting bids for Paul Ryan domain names

Even before Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan was announced as Mitt Romney?s running mate, entrepreneurial cybersquatters swooped in to buy up relevant Web domain names.

Seeking a quick buck, the proud owners of paulryan.com, romneyandryan.com and romney-ryan.com are now soliciting sales pitches.

Paulryan.com has been registered the longest, to an Irish businessman named Paul Ryan. His site was established in 2001, according to a Whois search.

The Irish Paul Ryan declined to say if the Obama or Romney campaigns had contacted him about buying paulryan.com, but he told TheDC, ?I am having the domain name valued, I have had a lot of interest in it.?

A site that has already been valued is romney-ryan.com, which can belong to you ? or to a campaign or super PAC ? for $49,888.

Romney-ryan.com is registered to a Californian named George Popescu, who created the site in January according to Whois. His uncanny foresight may lead to a big-time payday.

But perhaps the most active salesman is Charlotte, N.C., resident Vincent Sullivan, who according to Whois snatched up romneyandryan.com three days before last Saturday?s big announcement.

Sullivan decorated his new site with a wallpapered photo of Romney and Ryan, and has a snazzy submission box allowing for interested parties to contact him.

Sullivan did not respond to questions submitted via the submission box or via the email address listed on his site?s Whois profile.

A search of opensecrets.org donor records did not provide a hint of the men?s political leanings ? suggesting that they are more likely cybersquatting hobbyists than political partisans.

Cybersquatting is not limited to the 2012 Republican ticket, as many domains naming either President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden or both also are not owned by their namesakes.

Locating Fast Products Of Personal Finance Help - Consumer ...

Computer & Accessories, by LeighannFlipp711.

Money, money, money. It rules our world, whether we like it or not. Dealing with our finances requires that we learn about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Here are some tips that can help you to better manage your finances. Take these tips to heart and gain control of your money.

When your boiler or furnace breaks, look at the average life expectancy of these items prior deciding to get it fixed. If it is close to the end of its life, you will save more money just replacing it instead of repairing it since it more then likely will just break down again sometime soon after. Plus a new one will work more efficiently.

Keep track of all of the money you spend. You should invest in a program that will help you keep a tally of every cent that you dish out. When using this type of software, make sure to put in all purchases, regardless of how small, they seem to be.

To reduce credit card debt completely avoid eating out for three months and apply the extra cash to your debt. This includes fast food and morning coffee runs. You will be surprised at how much money you can save by taking a packed lunch to work with you everyday.

Use an online savings account to get the best interest rates. Many savings accounts pay little or no interest due to the poor economy. There are online savings accounts, like those offered by ING Direct, that offers rates four to five times better than traditional brick-and-mortar banks. These rates do come with some restrictions, so read the fine print carefully before opening an account.

Helping someone move in to a new house or apartment can be a way to get some quick cash for ones personal finances. Even if one doesn?t earn any money or only earns a small amount of money they will have at least earned a favor from the person that they helped move. Try news on car wheels for great suggestions.

You can often find great deals if you go shopping on the infamous Black Friday. If you are truly dedicated, you can wake up at the crack of dawn to get into stores as they open up and be the first person to get the best deals, which will greatly improve your personal finances.

Concern about matters of personal finance is something that just about everyone shares. The most useful way to combat the fear and uncertainty that financial issues often bring is to gain a thorough understanding of the subject. Keep the preceding tips and concepts handy, and you will be prepared to weather any storm.

BlackBerry Music Gateway for iPhone and iPad review

The BlackBerry Music Gateway is a great way to connect to and control your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad music to your existing speakers and stereo system, at home or on the go

Okay. Yes. Sure. It's made by Research in Motion (RIM) and called the BlackBerry Music Gateway, but thanks to the universal standard that is Bluetooth, this mighty little marvel works not only fine with Apple's iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad -- it works fantastically well. You connect it to your existing home theater/stereo system, your car or camper audio, your boat or backyard boom box, tap to connect, and make with the music. It really is just that simple, and just that awesome.

BlackBerry Music Gateway for iPhone and iPad review

The BlackBerry Music Gateway box includes the device itself, a micro-USB cable, an AC adapter, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio jack, and a 3.5mm to left- and right stereo connectors (RCA). Again, the device is small. Compared to an Apple TV or Apple Airport Extreme, both of which can stream audio over Wi-Fi, it's positively tiny. It's not much bigger than a chicken nugget or an iPod nano. It's that small.

It's also ridiculously easy to set up. Plug it in and connect. That's it. Seriously.

You do have some choices, however. You can charge the BlackBerry Music Gateway with the USB cable, either by plugging it into a handy USB port on your computer or MacBook, or into the AC adapter. Then you slip it into a pocket and take it with you anywhere and everywhere, ready to jack into any audio source you come across. I tried it in my car's AUX in, my friend's home theater, and an old ghetto blaster someone had left on the deck since the 80s... and it worked perfectly with all of them.

You can also plug it into the AC adapter, and the AC adapter into the grid, and just leave the BlackBerry Music Gateway in one place, hidden away, ready to use whenever you want. I tried that at home -- hooking it into my Pioneer 7.1 receiver and just leaving it on. That way I was only ever a remote button push and iPhone play button away from room-booming sound.

Speaking of iPhone, and iOS devices in general, pairing is a snap. No fuss, no codes, no muss. Simply tap Settings, BlueTooth, wait for iOS to discover the BlackBerry Music Gateway, and then tap to connect.

If the iPhone had NFC, it would be even faster, since the BlackBerry Music Gateway supports NFC connection as well. So, if you have a non-Apple device with NFC, just knock the NFC and go. If you're all in on Apple, you'll have to wait and see what the next iPhone brings to see if we can join the near-field communication revolution...

In the meantime, the BlackBerry Music Gateway supports all the basic Bluetooth controls you need, including pause and play, and even volume. Tap the AirPly button to select between iPhone/iPod/iPad and BlackBerry Music Gateway, then drag your finger across the volume slider to pick the perfect level for your intimate dinner, house party, or road trip.

If you're worried about Bluetooth mangling your music, don't be. Companies like Jawbone have proven that even highly compressed audio transport protocols can still produce great sound, and the BlackBerry Music Gateway shows they're no exception to that rule.

Also, don't let the Music gateway name fool you -- you can use the BlackBerry Music Gateway with any type of audio, even movies and video games. If you want to fill the room with cinematic sound, or take your gaming to the next sound level, you can do that too. I tried it with my iPad watching Dark Knight and playing Real Racing 2 and the sound was far, far -- far! -- better than the tiny, tinny Apple speakers in every situation.

The only real tradeoff is this -- unlike cabled audio systems, the BlackBerry Music Gateway can't charge your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad while it's streaming music. So, if you've relied on a USB to Dock connector cable in the past to keep your device alive while it was playing, you'll have to either charge separately, or get a dedicated cable to charge while you're streaming over Bluetooth.

Now, for double the price you could get an Apple TV that will stream video as well as audio, and AirPort Express that will act as a router as well as a music gateway, or something like the Jawbone JAMBOX that includes built-in speakers. But that's at double the price, and for things way beyond what the BlackBerry Music Gateway excels at -- inexpensively putting your audio on your existing sound system.

It's also platform independent, so if you have iPhones but your friends or family have Androids, BlackBerry phones, or anything else, you're all good to go.

The good

  • Incredible small and convenient
  • Simple and easy to pair
  • Relatively inexpensive
  • Includes both 3.5 and stereo RCA connectors
  • Excellent sound quality, even for Bluetooth
  • Supports NFC... even though Apple doesn't yet

The bad

  • Requires existing speaker system

The bottom line

There are alternatives to the BlackBerry Music Gateway that do substantially more, but they cost substantially more as well. The BlackBerry Music Gateway won't replace your Apple TV or AirPlay system, but it will certainly complement it. If you already have a great speaker system in your home, car, cottage, etc. and you just want a cheap, convenient way to stream your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad audio to it, you want the BlackBerry Music Gateway.

Wall Street down as Japan signals slower global economy

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks fell on Monday after six days of gains for the S&P 500 and as data showed Japan's economy grew much less than expected in the second quarter, a reminder of the headwinds faced by the global economy.

Japan's gross domestic product expanded just 0.3 percent in April-June, half the pace expected, raising doubts about the strength of the recovery and highlighting the impact of Europe's debt crisis on worldwide demand.

Traders are looking for direction, with the S&P 500 hovering close to its highest in more than four years. Stocks' recent gains have relied mainly on investor hopes for central bank stimulus but also on tentative signs of life from the U.S. labor and housing markets.

Much of the money entering the U.S. equity market since the rally started in June has gone into defensive sectors. But investors are eyeing early signs that more aggressive areas of the market, such as small caps and cyclical sectors, are starting to do better, a key factor if the rally is to continue.

"Those are the sectors that will need to lead to continue the rally, whether they can do it on their own remains to be seen. I'm not sure we will get out of the summer without a pullback," said Janna Sampson, co-chief investment officer at OakBrook Investments LLC in Lisle, Illinois.

Sampson said she was still cautious over the potential for developments in Europe's debt crisis to blindside the market and said she would be closely watching data releases to see if improvement in the U.S. labor market would continue.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.dji> dropped 89.97 points, or 0.68 percent, to 13,117.98. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.spx> dropped 7.22 points, or 0.51 percent, to 1,398.65. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.ixic> dropped 15.83 points, or 0.52 percent, to 3,005.03.

The benchmark S&P index had risen 3 percent over the prior six sessions, its longest rally since December 2010, but gains have slowed, with the index hovering at highs not seen since May.

"It is encouraging that offensive areas of the market are joining the rally," wrote Ari Wald, a technical analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman in New York. "In particular, the Russell 2000 <.rut>, the S&P 500 High-Beta Index <.sp5hbi>, and the iShares MSCI EAFE Index <.msciea>, broke above key resistance last week and completed near-term bottoming formations."

"This 'risk-on' breakout should provide a tailwind for the market and assist the S&P 500 in its attempt to move above its 1,420 April cycle high," he said. "A failure to confirm new cycle highs in the coming weeks to months would create worrisome multimonth divergences."

Late on Friday, the president of the San Francisco Federal Reserve said the Fed should launch a fresh round of bond buying to lower the U.S. unemployment rate more quickly, fuelling speculation that the central bank could soon unveil a new round of quantitative easing.

The CBOE VIX Volatility index <.vix>, which is seen as a proxy for investors' fears, fell 3.1 percent to 14.29, its lowest level in five months. The decline was unusual as the index typically moves inversely to the S&P 500. It suggested investors were not overly worried about the market's outlook.

Swiss private bank Julius Baer is to buy Bank of America's Merrill Lynch wealth manager outside the United States, paying 860 million Swiss francs ($882 million) for the loss-making business to boost by 40 percent its assets managed. Julius Baer plans to raise 1.19 billion Swiss francs ($1.22 billion) in new capital for the deal.

Bank of America shares fell 0.4 percent to $7.70.

Sysco Corp shares gained 4.1 percent at $30.01 before market's open after the food distributor reported fourth-quarter earnings.

According to Thomson Reuters data through Monday, of the 454 companies in the S&P 500 that have reported second-quarter earnings to date 68 percent have reported earnings above analyst expectations, matching the beat rate for the last four quarters.

Comverse Technology Inc said it had agreed to be acquired by Verint Systems Inc following the planned spin-off of its Comverse Inc telecom business. Comverse shares fell 1 percent to $5.65.

Japan's Tokyo Electron Limited said it will acquire chip-equipment maker FSI International Inc for $252.5 million in cash to add a key technology to its chipmaking capabilities. FSI's shares rose 52 percent.

Consuming flavanol-rich cocoa may enhance brain function

ScienceDaily (Aug. 9, 2012) ? Eating cocoa flavanols daily may improve mild cognitive impairment, according to new research in the American Heart Association's journal Hypertension.

Each year, more than six percent of people aged 70 years or older develop mild cognitive impairment, a condition involving memory loss that can progress to dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Flavanols can be found in tea, grapes, red wine, apples and cocoa products and have been associated with a decreased risk of dementia. They may act on the brain structure and function directly by protecting neurons from injury, improving metabolism and their interaction with the molecular structure responsible for memory researchers said. Indirectly, flavanols may help by improving brain blood flow.

In this study, 90 elderly participants with mild cognitive impairment were randomized to drink daily either 990 milligrams (high), 520 mg (intermediate) or 45 mg (low) of a dairy-based cocoa flavanol drink for eight weeks. The diet was restricted to eliminate other sources of flavanols from foods and beverages other than the dairy-based cocoa drink. Cognitive function was examined by neuro-psychological tests of executive function, working memory, short-term memory, long-term episodic memory, processing speed and global cognition.

Researchers found:

  • Scores significantly improved in the ability to relate visual stimuli to motor responses, working memory, task-switching and verbal memory for those drinking the high and intermediate flavanol drinks.
  • Participants drinking daily higher levels of flavanol drinks had significantly higher overall cognitive scores than those participants drinking lower-levels.
  • Insulin resistance, blood pressure and oxidative stress also decreased in those drinking high and intermediate levels of flavanols daily. Changes in insulin resistance explained about 40 percent of the composite scores for improvements in cognitive functioning.

"This study provides encouraging evidence that consuming cocoa flavanols, as a part of a calorie-controlled and nutritionally-balanced diet, could improve cognitive function," said Giovambattista Desideri, M.D., study lead author and director of Geriatric Division, Department of Life, Health and Environmental Sciences, University of L'Aquila in Italy. "The positive effect on cognitive function may be mainly mediated by an improvement in insulin sensitivity. It is yet unclear whether these benefits in cognition are a direct consequence of cocoa flavanols or a secondary effect of general improvements in cardiovascular function."

The study population was generally in good health without known cardiovascular disease. Thus, it would not be completely representative of all mild cognitive impairment patients. In addition, only some clinical features of mild cognitive impairment were explored in the study.

"Given the global rise in cognitive disorders, which have a true impact on an individual's quality of life, the role of cocoa flavanols in preventing or slowing the progression of mild cognitive impairment to dementia warrants further research," Desideri said. "Larger studies are needed to validate the findings, figure out how long the positive effects will last and determine the levels of cocoa flavanols required for benefit."

Introducing Necessary Details For Home Improvement Questions ...

If you?re looking for great ways to improve your home but don?t know where to start, read this article for great advice and tips. The information that you find below can not only help you to become an expert at home improvement, but may also help to increase the value of your home.

To achieve the most even look when installing vinyl tiles, start applying them from the midpoint of the room. To do this, measure the room at its widest points, marking the halfway point of each line. Using a chalk line to mark the intersecting points, you can begin your tile installation at the perpendicular junction point, spreading outward toward the edges of the room.

There are a few electrical tasks that a non-expert can do around the home. One is replacing a light switch. After you turn off the electricity and remove the cover plate, detach the wires on the old switch and replace them in the same order on the new switch.

If you have small holes in your wall from hanging paintings or pictures, use spackle and paint to make your walls look new again. First, buy spackle at a home improvement store. If the holes aren?t too large, you will just need a small amount of spackle. The smallest holes can be filled by applying spackle from the end of a bobby pin. Once the spackle dries, smooth over the hole with something rigid (like a credit card) so the wall is smooth. Apply paint. This will make the holes in your wall disappear overnight!

A great tip for home improvement is to inspect your windows and see if they need to be replaced. The key here is to make sure you are going to get enough value for what you pay for. If the windows just need some maintenance it is better to do that than replace because windows are a major investment.

Try laying down a new driveway outside your home. By improving the exterior of your home, you can make it look great outside and possibly increase its value. Choose a material which suits your home; there is concrete, clay tile, tarmac, natural stone, and brick that you can use. Get a professional to lay it down properly. Navigate to Solar Panels for excellent guidance.

Prior to installing self-adhering vinyl tiles, ensure that the floor or subfloor on which you are laying the floor is completely level. Bubbles or ridges in the floor could cause the edges of the tiles to lift, which can expose sharp edges that not only look unsightly, but may cause injury.

Home improvement is not as complicated as it is made out to be. Sure it can be a lot of work, but it doesn?t have to be. It can indeed have small jobs too. Now that you understand a bit more of how to use things and what to do, go give it a try.

Navigate to my web-site for great recommendations now: customhomebuildersdraytonvalley.com or thinking about electricians Calgary.

2014 Impala Focuses on Crash Avoidance

The all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala is the latest addition to Chevrolet's passenger car lineup and provides first-ever safety technologies for the global brand.
Unveiled earlier this year at the New York Auto Show, the Impala leads the full-size segment with 10 standard air bags and boasts numerous active safety systems. While passive safety systems, such as air bags and seat belts, protect occupants in the event of a crash, active safety systems are designed to prevent a crash in the first place through the use of sounds, visual warnings and automated actions.
Here are the active safety features on the 2014 Impala designed to help drivers avoid crashes:
Full-speed-range adaptive cruise control - Radar technology senses ahead and adjusts the Impala's speed from a complete stop to full acceleration. It is the first application in a Chevrolet.
Collision mitigation braking - Another Chevy first: Radar technology detects a possible crash threat and alerts the driver. If the driver does not appear to react quickly enough or doesn't react at all, this feature intervenes to apply the brakes in an effort to avoid the crash.
Forward collision alert - Camera technology detects a possible crash threat and alerts the driver visually and audibly, giving him or her time to stop and/or change course. If a crash occurs, the Impala is equipped with OnStar, and a specially trained advisor is connected to the vehicle. If the driver requests help or can't answer, emergency responders are sent to the precise GPS location.
Lane departure warning - A camera-based lane-detection system identifies traffic lane markings and provides audible alerts in cases of unintended lane changes.
Side blind zone alert - Using radar sensors on both sides of the vehicle, the system "looks" for other vehicles in the blind zone areas of the Impala and indicates their presence with LED-lit symbols in the outside mirrors.
Rear cross traffic alert - Based on the radar sensors of side blind zone alert, it warns the driver of vehicles in traffic when backing out of a parking spot - including angled parking. Visual and audible alerts are triggered if moving vehicles are detected.
Rear vision camera with dynamic guidelines - With a display in the center stack infotainment system, the camera provides a view of objects directly behind the Impala, while the dynamic guidelines provide a reference that helps make parking and other maneuvers easier.
Rear park assist - Uses sensors in the rear bumper to detect objects directly behind the vehicle and provides an alert for the driver.
Brake pre-fill feature - Another Chevy first: Radar technology detects a possible crash threat and the system increases the hydraulic pressure in the brake lines, anticipating a driver's hard braking. This quickens the response time and shortens stopping distances (included with 20-inch wheels on uplevel models).
Hill hold/start assist - On hills, applies the brakes for about 1.5 seconds to prevent the car from rolling when the driver moves his or her foot from the brake to the accelerator pedal.

Boost to alien status of Nobel-winning quasicrystal

Douglas Heaven, reporter

GRAIN#5---BACK-VIEW.jpg

(Image: Paul Steinhardt and Luca Bindi)

Evidence is mounting that the only known natural form of a bizarre type of crystal known as a quasicrystal originated in space.

Like standard crystals, the atoms of a quasicrystal are ordered, but their arrangement lacks translational symmetry: a shifted copy won't ever quite match its original.

Such a pattern on the atomic scale was long thought impossible, until the Nobel-prizewinning work of Daniel Shechtman of the Technion Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, who was the first to spot an example in an alloy.

Since then, the strange arrangement has also been discovered in a rock dug up in the Koryak mountains in eastern Russia in 1979, which is now part of the collection of the Museum of Natural History in Florence, Italy. Except for this sample, though, all other known quasicrystals had been synthesised in lab environments.

Last July a team of scientists led by Paul Steinhardt of Princeton University trekked across the tundra into the Koryak mountains on a quest to find the source of the naturally occurring quasicrystal. Based on the conditions required for the natural formation of quasicrystals, the team reported on their return evidence that the quasicrystal must have fallen from space.

Now Steinhardt and Bindi report that the 2011 expedition turned up further naturally occurring samples of quasicrystal (pictured above). And the samples back up their previous claim that the quasicrystals come from a 4.5-billion-year-old meteorite that fell to Earth around 15,000 years ago.

Space chemistry 1: Earth-based nature 0.

What's more, Steinhardt says that the newly found grains are in better condition than the samples that lie in Florence:
Whereas the Florence sample had been pulverized early on and, except for a few micrograins, destroyed and all context lost, here we have a full grain.
His team is now analysing the new samples to see what they might reveal about quasicrystals - and the state of the early solar system.

Foods for Your Moods - Health Guidance

When you're feeling "off" emotionally or physically ? cranky and irritable, tired, depressed, angry, or stressed out ? which "comfort foods" do you eat? If you tend to devour an entire bag of chips, or dive into that extra-large tub of Double Fudge Ripple Rocky Road ice cream, or skip food entirely and go for a stiff drink, you're probably perpetuating the very moods, lack of energy, or depression that you're trying to "treat."

In a very real sense, we are what we eat. An enormous body of scientific research is indicating that our American diet of processed foods, sugars, "bad" fats, and refined carbohydrates is not only bad for our physical health, it's bad for our mental and emotional health. According to these studies, adolescents with largely fast food and junk food diets are 79% more likely to suffer from depression. Adults who ate a diet high in trans fats were 42% more likely to be depressed.

So one of the best things we can do to treat "bad moods" is to eat the kind of balanced, nutritious diet that prevents them in the first place. That is, make sure your diet includes lots of brain-healthy foods such as lean meats, seafood, leafy greens, and whole grains. Skip the processed foods and the sugars, and don't be afraid of fats, especially the "good" fats, which actually help to protect the brain against mood disorders.

This all sounds good, but I'm cranky right now! What do I eat?

Good question. Our world is stressful, and no matter how balanced our normal diet is, every so often we're going to be hit with bouts of tiredness at inappropriate times (like when you have a report that you have to finish by the end of the work day), or periods of irritability and crankiness (which we try not to take out on co-workers and loved ones). What can we eat at such times to counteract the out-of-balance conditions our bodies and brains have gotten themselves into, and bring us back to a happier, more balanced state of mind and body?

The following suggestions have been gathered from nutritionists, food experts, doctors, and psychologists, and may be of help to you when your moods get you down:

? Eat more often. First, if you've found that your moods or energy levels "swing" a lot during the day, consider eating more often (every 4 to 5 hours), to provide both your body and your brain with the fuel they need to function properly.

? When you snack, eat "combination" snacks. That is, instead of just eating a sugary snack (which your body craves when its blood sugar gets low), eat a combination of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and sugars. For example, snack on nuts combined with fruits. Carbohydrates provide quick energy, but also tend to cause a "sugar crash" soon after eating them, which leaves you even more tired than before. Combining carbohydrates like vegetables or fruits with meats or nuts and some source of fats slows the digestive process, and keeps your blood sugar levels higher for longer.

? For tiredness, have a spinach salad. When you're tired and can't concentrate, skip the "quick cures" like coffee and head for the salad bar. Spinach contains high levels of folic acid, which boosts your homocysteine levels, and improves the flow of blood. So do other leafy green vegetables and foods such as cereals, potatoes, beans, peas, and mushrooms.

? Anxious or stressed out? Eat salmon. If you find yourself feeling worry or anxiety, it could mean that your body is low in the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. Salmon ? whether at a sit-down restaurant or in the form of a salmon burger ? can boost your levels of these nutrients quickly.

? Feeling angry? Have a cup of green tea. Green tea is an excellent source of theanine, which improves concentration and focus while calming you down. Its low amounts of caffeine also won't increase the feelings of anger the way that coffee does.

? Eat dark chocolate to fight depression and anxiety. Even though eating chocolate sounds counter-intuitive when thinking about "eating for health," dark chocolate (not milk chocolate or white chocolate) contains serotonin (a natural antidepressant) and high amounts of flavonoids, which are powerful antioxidants. Dark chocolate also reduces levels of the hormones that make you feel stressed out and anxious.

? Sad? Have an avocado. Avocados are high in antioxidants, vitamin C, and healthy fats that act as powerful "brain food," and can quickly lift your spirits.

? Depressed? Have a banana. Bananas are another good source of the natural antidepressant serotonin, as well as vitamin C, beta-carotene, and antioxidants. They also contain the amino acid tryptophan, which can reduce symptoms of anxiety or insomnia.

? For more energy and happiness, eat sunflower seeds. An excellent source of protein and nutrients such as selenium, vitamin E, and magnesium, sunflower seeds are also tasty and convenient. It's easy to add them to salads, or to just keep a bag of them in your desk handy for snacking.

? Just feeling blue? Have a few Brazil nuts. These nuts contain high amounts of the antioxidant selenium, which positively affects your moods. While you should eat them in moderation because they're high in unsaturated fats and calories, small portions can quickly counteract feelings of sadness, irritability, anxiety, or fatigue.

OUYA Gaming Console Now Up for Pre-Order, $109 with Expected ...

The Kickstarter for OUYA, the Android-powered gaming console, officially ended last night with a final total of money raised somewhere near $8.5 million. Dang. If somehow you missed out on backing this Tegra 3 powered game console, you can now pre-order a device from OUYA themselves starting today.?

If you are in the United States, $109 will get you a console and a controller, which includes all the shipping costs. If you are elsewhere, tack on an extra $10 and you will be all set. OUYA definitely has the right vision in taking on the established console giants, but it remains to be seen whether the devices will get out the door quickly enough to still be relevant.

Would you take this console over the next generation Xbox or PlayStation?

Skype now selling prepaid cards in Mexico, makes it easier to get unlimited calling plans

Believe it or not, prepaid cards are indeed a thing south of the US border. In fact, the majority of folks in Mexico often choose to go this route rather than sticking with some sort of monthly contract. Not surprisingly, Skype's done its homework and has taken note of this situation, as the Microsoft-owned service has announced its plans to start selling a couple of prepaid card options in Mexico. For starters, there's a 100 pesos (around $8) per-month deal which offers an unlimited calling plan to both mobile and landlines in the US, while the the pay-as-you-go sheet costs 150 pesos but charges by the minute at a modest 30 cents and includes calls to more than 170 countries. According to Skype, these cards will be available at multiple stores all over Mexico, such as Best Buy, Radio Shack, 7 Eleven and El Palacio de Hierro.
